Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School, in the year 1992, began her studies in marine biology. Bossard started her commercial fishing career in 1999, after she was hired on board the vessel F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner that was converted into the role of a salmon tender is operated by Murat Aritan. The fisherman has been in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has married Aritan. The couple has joined forces and are claiming their respective industries. They are both proponents of conserving renewable and sustainable marine resources. Otolith is a wholesale direct seafood retailer, was founded in the year 2007 by Bella Bossard (age 3), Andre Bossard (1 year old) as well as Bossard's mom. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia following the birth of two children.
